PROSECUTORS
Kevin J. Baxter
Erie County Prosecutor
Kevin was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1982. He is currently Vice
President of National District Attorney Association, Chairman
of the Erie County Community Corrections Board and past President of the
Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association. Before being elected as the Erie
County Prosecutor in 1989 Kevin served as Law Director for the City of
Sandusky from 1987 to 1989. He also served as Police Prosecutor for the
City of Sandusky from 1983 through 1987.
Mary Ann Barylski
Chief Assistant Prosecutor
Mary Ann was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1987 and joined the
Prosecutor's Office the same year. She is currently the Chief Assistant
Prosecutor. In 1992 Mary Ann was the recipient of the Ohio
Prosecuting Attorneys Certificate of Achievement Award. Prior to joining
the Prosecutor's Office she was involved in family business.
Vicki R. Palmer
Assistant Prosecutor
Vicki was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1979. She was a former Magistrate
in the Erie County Family Court. Currently Vicki presents cases to the
Grand Jury and handles Children Services cases.
Jeanne M. Lippert
Assistant Prosecutor
Jeanne was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1992. She was formerly a Public
Defender until 1999 when she became an Assistant Prosecutor. Jeanne
handles criminal cases in the felony division with emphasis on felony
D.U.I. offenders.
Laura E. Alkire
Assistant Prosecutor
Laura was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2004 and became an Assistant
Prosecutor for the Erie County Drug Task Force. Prior to becoming an
Assistant Prosecutor she worked for the Erie County Prosecutor's Office
as a law clerk and appellate brief writer.
Nicholas Smith
Assistant Prosecutor
Nic was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2005 and the United States District
Court, Northern District of Ohio in 2006. Nic is a member of the
Erie County Bar Association and Ohio Bar Association. Nic handles
criminal cases in the felony division.
