Water Rates
Ever wonder how the cost of water is determined? There are a couple of factors that must be considered - both the cost to buy the water from the cities of Sandusky, Huron and Vermilion, and distributes it to Erie County water customers. Water Regionalization has resulted in water rate decrease of $0.18 per CCF for Water District A customers. Water rates generate revenue to pay for the cost of purchasing water from Sandusky, Huron, and Vermilion, operation and maintenance expenses, capital improvements, equipment purchases, debt service payments, etc.
The current water rates are:
District A Water Rates (Effective December, 2006):
District B Water Rates (Effective January 1,2003):
Note: 1 CCF = 748 Gallons CCF means hundred cubic feet of water
Sewer Rates
Sewer Rates generate revenue to pay for cost of Sandusky and Vermilion to convey and treat a portion of our wastewater, operation and maintenance expenses of County wastewater plants and sewer systems, capital improvements, equipment purchase, debt service payments, etc.
The charges for sewer are based upon water consumption. The current sewer rates are:
Erie County Sewer District Rates (Effective January 1, 2004):
Huron Area Sewer District Rates (Effective February 16, 2006 Per Res. 06.96):
Note: 1 CCF = 748 Gallons CCF means hundred cubic feet of water
