The Erie County Solid Waste District provides recycling and waste reduction opportunities and education for the citizens and visitors of Erie County including:
- Fourteen county-wide dropoff recycling sites for cans, glass, plastic and paper
- Special materials collection such as mercury, CFL bulbs, oil and more
- Presentations and displays on recycling for groups of all ages
- Teacher resources on solid waste and recycling issues
- Litter cleanups and other volunteer opportunities
