Celebrate Earth Day With An Extravaganza!

Erie County Solid Waste Management District held the first annual Earth Day Extravaganza on April 21, 2007 at the Sandusky Mall. Area businesses and government agencies provided displays, informational brochures, give-a-ways and hands on activities to over 1,500 attendees.

The first annual Recycled Art contest was held. Students from Vermilion Sailorway and Huron High School participated in this fun event. Recyclables, glue guns and scissors were the only things the teams could use to create their artwork. They had 30 minutes to gather supplies, and construct their projects.

Plans for 2008 Earth Day Extravaganza are underway. Bring your students and celebrate Earth Day with us in this special way!! Event and contest information will be sent out to area teachers by March 30, 2008.
