Celebrate Earth Day With An Extravaganza!

Erie County Solid Waste Management District held the second annual Earth Day Extravaganza on April 19, 2008 at the Sandusky Mall. Over 20 area businesses and government agencies provided displays, informational brochures, give-a-ways and hands on activities to over 1,700 attendees.

The second annual Recycled Art contest was held. There were eight teams of students and adults who participated in the contest. The recycling artist, P.R. "Grizzled Wizard" Miller, presided as judge. The contestants were supplied with recyclables, glue guns and scissors, and had thirty minutes to construct their masterpieces.

Plans for 2009 Earth Day Extravaganza are underway. Bring your students and celebrate Earth Day with us in this special way!! Event and contest information will be sent out to area teachers by March 30, 2009.
