Educational Trunks

Soils Education:

Students will learn about the various layers of soil, what it is made of, the different textures and the importance of soil to humans.

Rocks Education:

Students will have the opportunity to use Ohio Rocks and Minerals sets and a Mohs scale of hardness mineral kit. Information is provided on the rock cycle, the three classes of rocks and how rocks are identified.

Fire Education:

Erie SWCD has received a fire education Trunk courtesy of Project Learning Tree and the Division of Forestry. This trunk is full of exciting activities and tools to demonstrate fire safety in and around our forests. Contact our office for more information.

Watershed Wonders:

Watershed Wonders is a cooperative effort to educate students about the water resources in Erie County. The unit includes activities about the water cycle, Lake Erie, watersheds, non-point source pollution and how students keep our waterways clean.
