The Digital Soil
Survey (DSS) is a product developed to view Ohio soil surveys
with a computer. All the information contained in the
traditional bound soil surveys is available in the DSS,
including the maps.
All the
software necessary to view the soil survey and the map are
available on the CD. Due to the large amount of data on the DSS
it is not feasible to distribute via the internet if users
wishing to obtain a copy have dial-up. Dial-up users may obtain
a CD of the survey by mail or pick it up at the district office.
For those users who have broadband/DSL the CD image (ISO file) is
available for you to download, save and burn onto a blank CD-R.
Soils text and maps are also available through two,
web-accessible products provided by the U.S. Department of
Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) at the
following links:
