Commissioner's Chambers Renovation

The Facilities Department staffing had the pleasure of updating the Erie County Commissioners Chambers during 2008. Our staff demolished all the interior and did a complete build out of the area. We included all the latest in lighting and package controls, as well as the technology to meet the demands of today's communications and information highway. Our officials can now present to the Commissioners over the web a visual package that can be monitored throughout the chambers, and documents that need to be reviewed can be presented by a focusing camera. Many pages of paper are a thing of the past!
EQUIPMENT LIFE CYCLE

We in Facilities are concerned about the "equipment life cycle" of all our systems. In order to insure their continued service we inspect, repair, adjust, and apply manufacturers recommendations. This type of an ongoing Preventative Maintenance Program will insure each component of a building system will operate for the duration of the expected life cycle. In most cases a good PM Program will extend the components past their expected service, and this is the goal of Facilities/Fleet Department. Topnotch PM produces minimum breakdowns so systems continue to meet the needs of the facility user. These types of projects are ongoing throughout the years.
INSTALLATION OF COURTHOUSE SECURITY CAMERAS

The installation and operation of the Courthouse security cameras and monitors have been in the design stage for some time. We are pleased to announce that Facilities has completed the project and the system is in full operation. All points of concern in the Courthouse can be observed from one central point.
COURTHOUSE ELEVATOR RENOVATION

As you may recall the late summer and fall season was difficult in the Courthouse. The elevator was down for a renovation project. During the project we had all the controls, cabling, landing equipment, and cab details completely replaced. In late October we were able to turn the elevator back to the Courthouse for continued use by all. This project has given the County the ability to have access to all levels of the Courthouse, with the latest safety equipment in place for the safe operation of the elevator.
